Catalog note / 解説

This print is a superb depiction of rough waves. Gogaku captures a very dramatic moment, with high, rolling waves and black clouds covering most of the sky, creating a dragon-shaped pattern. Although Gogaku was clearly capable of great landscape pictures, his only extant full-color landscapes are the prints from this series (a total of six designs).
