Saturday, 5 November 2005 Up for bidding is this book on THE PROCESS OF WOOD BLOCK PRINTING. UKIYO is a genre picture developed in close connection with wood-cut printing. They were very popular among the common people in the TOKUGAWA ERA (1618-1863). They are worked out through the joint efforts of a painter,an engraver and a printer. This book represents the process of printing. The print in this folded book is of a FAMOUS PARK IN KYOTO called MARUYAMA, AND THE WORK OF KOITSU TSUCHIYA (1870-1949) in 1936.
