Thanks for visiting my auction. You are viewing a rare set of Japanese woodblock prints by Takeji Asano (1900-1999). Asano was a native of Kyoto and graduated from the Kaiga Semmon Gakko in 1923. Later, he studied under Tsuchida Bakusen and shifted his interest to woodblock printing. Among his famous works is this set entitled, “Eight Views of Kinki”? the area now known as Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe, all produced in 1954. Sometime ago, I solicited the help of a translator to give you here the English translation of the Japanese writing in the margins.
